The German Federal Foundation for the Environment and the Greifswald Mire Center, in which the Succow Foundation is a partner, jointly invite you to the conference on June 1st, 2023 Accelerate peatland climate protection - how the peatlands can be rewetted. In order to achieve the German climate protection goals by 2045, peatland protection must be done more quickly. But the hurdles are still high. Now the Natural climate protection action program or the National peatland protection strategy offer the opportunity to remove obstacles to peatland protection projects and to speed up planning and approval at federal and state level. What this could look like in concrete terms will be shown and discussed at the event in the DBU Center for Environmental Communication in Osnabrück, including research results from the Greifswald Mire Centre and experiences from various peatlands and climate protection projects in the peatland-rich federal states.
