Succow Foundation supports UN poster series „Climate knowledge for all“

The Succow Foundation has supported a German translation of the poster series „Climate knowledge for all“ developed by the United Nations.

The poster series conveys knowledge about climate change issues and shows how this relates to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

In order to disseminate the poster series as widely as possible and make the content accessible to many people, the print files are available as a free download. In addition to English and German, the posters have now also been translated into Spanish, Chinese, Thai, Telugu, Tamil, Lao and Punjabi. Other languages will follow.

The posters applicable worldwide. Climate risks and impacts are presented globally, without explicitly reducing them to a specific climate zone. Due to the interconnectedness and cross cutting nature, none of the posters in this series can adequately convey the complexity of climate change, as well as its causes and effects by itself. However, when taken together, these materials aim to provide a good overview, providing a basic understanding of the issue from a range of perspectives.

In addition to the Succow Foundation, Benno Böer (UNESCO), Henning Schwarze (Schlangen Municipality) and Miguel Clüsener-Godt (Yokohama National University) contributed to the German version.

The opening of a climate path in the municipality of Schlangen on 22 April 2023 marked the start of the dissemination of the poster series in German-speaking countries. All institutions that deal with the topic of climate change, such as municipalities, educational institutions, religious communities, the private sector, NGOs or associations, are invited to further disseminate the series.
